We’ve come so far as a society and accomplished so many amazing things. But we are also guilty of doing some pretty messed up things. Let’s take the way we treat animals. It’s enough to look through your Facebook feed to realize that cases of extreme animal cruelty are not at all uncommon. ‘I would never hurt a dog or a cat,’ you might be thinking to yourself right now.
But what about the other animals we slaughter and kill for our own well-being and personal consumption? What about those who die because we are polluting their world and destroying their homes with our expending cities? Not to mention the many animals who have to die just so we can satisfy our egos.
Now, what if the roles were reversed?
What if it was the other way around and animals will do to us the same things we do to them? Sure, it’s not something that is likely to happen or something that we like to think about. But maybe it’s what we need to realize that we have to reconsider the way we treat animals.
This is what the illustrations below are all about. They are meant to shock us and make us understand we are messing things up. It is possible to live in harmony with nature and still enjoy life to its fullest.
At the risk of sounding like a passionate activist (which actually wouldn’t be such a terrible thing), this needs to be said. We need to stop burying our heads in the sand and stop acting selfish and like we run the world. Because we really don’t. This should serve as a wake-up call.
