Everything is easier when you have a best friend by your side. It’s important to have someone to share the good and the bad with. Someone who you know will always be there for you, even if they don’t always agree with the decisions you make.
A best friend is not necessarily someone who is a different version of you, sort of speak. In fact, the most productive friendships are the ones between individuals who are able to embrace the differences that exist between them. It might seem like I am describing an unusual friendship, but I think those are the best ones.
And when it comes to unusual friendships, animals seem to have it all figured out. Unlike some of us, animals have the amazing ability to look beyond each others’ (often considerable) differences and value what really matters: the soul.
This unlikely friendship between a dog and a fox pretty much proves that anything is possible as long as you keep an open heart. Juniper the fox and Moose the Australian Shepherd mix are both recues and they have become best friends. The two met at the animal shelter they currently live at. As soon as Juniper was brought in at the shelter, Moose started acting very protective around her.
Soon after they first met, they started doing everything together. They eat, sleep and play together. They even celebrate their birthdays together! But before you think about adopting a fox to give your dog the chance to make a new best friend, you should know that caring for a fox is extremely difficult.
So maybe just enjoy looking at these cute pictures. After all, this friendship is definitely one-of-a-kind!
