Most people would agree that no animal deserves to be in pain and suffer, especially if it’s because of the neglect of a human. Still, each year, millions of pets across the world are abandoned by their owners who have no concern about what will happen to them next.
Powder is one of those pets. The dog was abandoned in the middle of the Florida Everglades, a place filled with coastal mangroves, sawgrass marshes and pine flatwoods that are home to hundreds of animal species. No dogs can survive for a very long time in the harsh conditions there.
The dog was lucky enough to be found in time by a couple who was ramping. The dog was trying to find a comfortable place to sleep. They called help and together with local authorities finally managed to rescue Powder and bring him back to safety.
That was only the beginning of a long, costly recovery period that Powder underwent. A few months later, Powder looks like an entirely different dog and is in perfect health.
Even though Powder has had a rough life, he is now in very good hands and has a new chance at a happy life.
