There have been a lot of unusual hair trends going viral online. From the stylish grey hair to the glow-in-the-dark hair, the norms when it comes to styling and dying hair seem to be continuously changing.
Now, if you thought mermaid hair or famous-painting-inspired hair were strange, just wait until you find out more about the latest craze that is taking over the Internet lately. Hidden rainbow hair is the perfect trend for those who would want to dare more and stand out from the crowd, but maybe they have a 9-5 day job that doesn’t allow them to be as creative as they would want.
The name is pretty descriptive. Rainbow hair is just that: hair that is dyed to mimic the colors of the rainbow. As you can imagine, not everybody can pull off this look that involves having your hair dyed in multiple colors. But here comes the cool part.
The rainbow part is actually hidden under a layer of hair that can be in a natural color. Here’s what stylist Athena Golden, a hidden rainbow hair master, told The Huffington Post: “Hidden rainbows are placed in spots not normally seen unless the hair is up. We usually place layers to give the peekaboo effect.”
This trend is awesome because it doesn’t require people to be decisive about a color. It’s perfect for people who want to be more edgy, but don’t want to commit to a full head of rainbow hair.
With hidden rainbow you can basically have your cookie and eat it too. Which is always a good thing, right?
