It’s always a tragedy whenever a soldier dies while fighting in the first lines of combat so that we can live in a better world. Each one of the soldiers who fight in some of the most dangerous parts of the world is somebody’s son or daughter, somebody’s parent, somebody’s wife or husband.
Anybody who is willing to give out his or her own life just to protect the lives of others deserves our unconditional respect and appreciation. It’s one of the core values at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia.

The video below shows just a small sample of the work they do there. The clip shows a ceremony they held for a fallen soldier and his dog. They both died in combat and unfortunately got back home in a casket.
Nothing can make their death less of a tragedy, but it’s somewhat of a comfort to know there are people out there who give them the respect they deserve and who honor their sacrifice.
