Nutrition plays an essential role when it comes to leading a happy and healthy life. With the many sources of information nowadays, it’s easy to have access to all kinds of information about the nutritive value of a certain food.
Now, most of us know that food rich in calories is typically bad for us, but do you know just many calories you need for a balanced diet? Well, it primarily depends on whether you are a woman or a man and how much you weigh. The average limit for an adult is set to be around 2550 for men and 1940 calories per day for women.
But it’s easy to forget about the advised limit when you’re in the grocery store where beautiful packages created to make products seem irresistible are everywhere you look. Most of us simply don’t have the time to read the fine printing on the back of the packaging to see just how many calories a certain food has. Marketers know very well that our buying behavior will be much different if the color count was in sight, hence the fine printing on the back of most products.
An Instagram account called Calorie Brands decided to show people just how much calories are in some of their favorite products by redesigning their logos. For instance, a jar of Nutella (yum!) has more than 4,500 calories, which is more than twice the recommended calorie intake for women. Shocking right?
Those behind the Instagram account say “this is how brands should look like to help you achieve your summer body goals”.
Take a look and find out the exact amount of calories some of your favorites products have. I bet you’ll think twice about buying them the next time you go out shopping for groceries.
