If You See a Scarf Tied Up Around Your City This Holiday Season, Here’s What It Means

The holiday season is already here, and with Christmas just around the corner, it’s easy to get wrapped up in all the preparation and forget what this celebration is all about. Christmas should be a time where we all take a moment to think about the really important things in life and spend time with family and friends.
It should also be a time to act generous and do something for others who might not be as fortunate as we are. Members of one creative community in Manchester came up with a simple yet extremely kind way to embody what Christmas should be all about.
Because the temperatures are extremely low during this time of the year, they thought about giving away scarves to those who have to be in the cold all day. But instead of just making a donation through a specialized center, they decided to tie the scarves around trees in a park so that everyone who needs them can just take them whenever.
The scarves, knitted, crocheted and sewn of every color came with a note attached that read: “The scarf is free for the taking. If you need it, it’s yours.” Take a look:
