It would seem that constantly being at sea, surrounded by vast amounts of water and the sounds of the sea can get pretty old, pretty soon. But whoever said the life of those who work in the Navy is boring and predictable clearly doesn’t know much about life at sea.
As this video clearly shows, being a Navy is anything but ordinary and predictable. The clip shows Sri Lanka’s naval team coming across a large mass in the water while performing a routine patrol of the sea, and it’s something you need to see to believe.
At first, they were unsure about what exactly was in the water, but after they took a closer look, they realized they were actually looking at a tired elephant, swimming for its life. The crew members couldn’t believe their eyes, but despite the incident catching them off guard, they managed to act immediately to help the elephant.
Although elephants are known to be pretty good swimmers, this particular elephant was clearly in distress. As you can imagine, pulling an elephant out of the water is no small feat, but luckily, this story has a happy ending.
